In blog we trust!

Forget newspapers and magazines, blogs are where we get our information from nowadays. We keep up to date with what’s hip and happening and unlike the days of old, like 2000BB (Before Blogging) where we’d wait for a seasonal list of ‘what’s hot and what’s not’ from our favorite glossies, we now have top fashion bloggers telling us what’s in and what’s out every other day.

The blogosphere has exploded and you can subscribe to or follow blogs on dogs, photography, hobbies and past times, sports and pop culture, but guess what the most followed blogs are? Yup, fashion blogs. And it seems we can’t get enough of them. Whether it’s famous fashion bloggers or just well-dressed peeps around town, being stylish and keeping up with the trends is no longer for gals and metrosexuals. After all, like ZZ Top said ‘every girl is crazy ‘bout a sharp dressed man’!

That’s the good news. The bad news is that unless you’re living in a cave or under a rock, you no longer have any excuses for not being on fleek when it comes down to what you’re wearing. You have been warnedz! To bring you the most popular fashion blogs for men we narrowed our search down to about 300. That’s 300 blogs about men’s clothes, and that’s not even counting blogs from well-known designers or celebrities. And we haven’t even touched fashion vlogs or profiles of fashion focused accounts on Instagram, Pinterest or Tumblr.

Our global village has allowed us to change the way we shop and with online stores it doesn’t really matter if you’ve seen a pair of shoes in London that you really really want and you’re in the States; where there’s a web there’s a way.
To inspire you and get you looking sharp we’re sharing our top 5 popular fashion blogs that will change the way you see fashion and hopefully change the wear you wear it.

Top 5 List

Fashion Beans

Finding out about Fashion Beans could be the best thing you ever did. One of the popular fashion blogs with a focus on trends and lifestyle for men, the site offers everything from simple ‘how to’ and ‘101’ articles, as well as up to date look books, and fashion that’s doable for the everyday man. Fashion Beans is featured on many a top list and is fast becoming the one stop dot com shop for guys wanting to find out more about grooming and getting style tips. The stand-out page for us is ‘street style’ dedicated to really cool guys from all around the world; meant to inspire and have its readers aspire to be the very best fashionista they can be.

He Spoke Style

Certainly one of the most popular fashion blog, launched in 2013 He Spoke Style is considered to be the go-to site for original content for men and their interests, from careers and grooming products to fashion and lifestyle . The website has a team of contributors based in New York, Milan and Baltimore and the focus is real style advice, with relatable articles for guys, young and old, who are interested in up to date looks and great tips and advice. What appeals to us is that it’s got something for everyone and if you were to pop over there now you would be able to find out what to wear for your first job interview, get must-have closet checklists and even read an article on how to fold a pocket square. Who knew there was a way? The site also includes videos and podcasts as well as an advice section.

Style Girlfriend

Now this is an interesting one and perhaps some of you might feel it shouldn’t be included here but we think it’s clever and definitely has a target audience. Style Girlfriend is a website for men but not by men. It’s a fresh take on men’s fashion blogs with a girl giving advice on what men could and should wear to impress the female species, if that’s what you’re into. Already a popular fashion blog with guys and gals popping over to find out what’s new and how to style it, Style Girlfriend has also set up an online store, where you can shop the looks as featured. As far as we’re concerned it’s like the eBible of fashion.

The Sartorialist

Another website that’s a little off the beaten track is The Sartorialist, one of the first men’s fashion blogs to be launched, the site is considered a pioneer. Representing street style at its best from around the world, the website’s main aim is to bridge the gap between haute couture or high fashion and street trends in real life situations. The content is fresh and updated enough for you to visit every day. It’s well put together and visually it’s a winner. It is suggested however that if you take yourself and fashion too seriously then rather give it a miss.

The Gentleman’s Standard

Launched in 2008 The Gentlemen’s Standard is a blog for men of color. Unhappy with the way they were represented in the media, and how some men of color represented themselves, founder Glen Antoine Palmer, decided to create a website and fashion blog that would offer a different perspective, a place where young men can learn what to wear for an interview, be influenced by positive role models and aspire to be more than what society expects them to be. The website celebrates what it is to be a modern gentleman. ‘Gent Hints’ offers readers real advice for specific situations and the blog includes product reviews and features especially for distinguished gents of color. The audience is engaged and scrolling down the pages the first thing you notice is the comments and feedback. Clearly The Gentleman’s Standard is doing something very right.

From the sheer volume of fashion blogs targeting men it’s clear there is a need for them. Whether you’re looking for relationship advice, wanting to see what new grooming products are available or checking out the styles and trends, blogs by men for men are here to stay
